Overview

Seeking a qualified individual to repair and maintain drill equipment, hoe-rams, tractor-trailers, and light duty vehicles.  This individual will work in our Western Construction and Quarry region, traveling as needed throughout NY and VT. Mechanic will perform repairs and services both in a garage environment and at various job sites. This job will require a CDL B license.



Responsibilities

  • Replace and repair broken equipment
  • Perform PM on equipment
  • Trouble shoot mechanical equipment and systems such as motors, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components
  • Follow all Company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform field services and repairs on various equipment
  • Coordinate with Equipment Manager on needed parts & supplies necessary to repair and rebuild items
  • Use and operate all hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
  • View safety as paramount and pro-actively identify safety hazards
  • Complete accurate required maintenance documents and records
  • Participate in Equipment Manager meetings as needed
  • Other duties as assigned



Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Two Year Technical Degree or ASE Type Certification desired
  • Valid CDL B License
  • Three or more years experience working as a service technician desired
  • Must have own hand tools up to 1 5/8\'
  • Must be a self starter and have the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Must have good driving record
  • Must be able to work and travel out of state and during winter months work out of Auburn, New Hampshire, shop as needed
  • Must be able to obtain DOT Medical Card
  • Desired Core skills include:  Mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics, diesel motors, welding, electrical systems, and PLC skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position
  • Ability to lift 50 - 100 lbs., 30 - 40% of the time
  • Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather environments
  • Stooping and bending 30 - 40% of the time
